bio:

Nicole Runde is a curious and spirited designer from Baltimore, Maryland. In 2006, with a love of interiors, products, and textiles in her back pocket, Nicole migrated southward to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she dreamed, drew, and built her way toward a BFA in Furniture Design. Nicole graduated Valedictorian of her class with Summa Cum Laude Honors.

Her recent work was selected for the Apartment Therapy Design Showcase 2009, exhibited at the What’s New What’s Next @ 200 Lex at the New York Design Center (2009) and the American Craft Council School-to-Market Show (2009, 2010), and will be published in Lark Book’s 500 Cabinets due out this coming summer.

design philosophy:

Nicole is a designer because design is hopeful. It places faith in the ability of humans to change their surroundings and constantly improve and evolve for the better. She strives to inject this refreshing optimism into the cynical world around her through engaging and unexpected use of form, materials, and color. Nicole’s products and patterns venture to reawaken curiosity and ignite a spirit of playful inquiry.
